Let's not forget about Mike Auldridges great DVD's and tapes.

I've gone through them all. You can learn something from all of them. Here's
my list:

For beginners, Cindy Cashdollars tape is good and covers the basics. After
you get a little under you belt her Dobro Variations DVD is superb, one of
the best in my collection.

Mike A's stuff is wonderful, but get it on DVD, not tape if you can. He
stuffs so much stuff in, and talks so fast, that you need to crank it back
over and over to get every nuance. But well worth the effort: A+

Jerry Douglas's is also good but also a little on the more advanced side.
Still good though.

Rob Ickes's is probably the best for beginners. I covers all the basics and
more and is more up to date than the Cindy Cashdollar beginner DVD. A++

Stacy's stuff was the first stuff I got. I'm not sure if I would recommend
this or not to beginners. Stacy's style is so idiocyncratic and so much of
the tapes is spent on stuff that is very advanced, that I think it is better
after you've had something else under your belt.

Jimmy's 100 licks is in a class by itself, but is really something you'd
want to get after you have the basics down.

The worst tape in my collection is by Phil Ledbetter and put out by Mel Bay.
Stay away.
