The long and short of it is that more males actively play instruments,
particularly guitars, of which dobro is a type. Those females who play
instruments are also likely to respond to musical virtuosity in the
manner previously described. Socialization being the complex amalgam it
is, I won't speculate whether ANY hard and fast stereotypes apply to
either gender to the exclusion of the other.
