Yep, you got it.  The low bass D is pretty loose 'n floppy.  Various threads
here and on the '-Nation about low D guage.  .58?  .60?  Some even bigger.  NOT
lighter.  It would be even looser.  I've heard Jerry D. keeps it the same as G
tuning.  I think?

I can't see being able to tune UP to D from G . . . 

But, before I start . . . 

Three steps down on the 6th String G SEEMS kinda low and loosey . . . change
guage? 
Lighter or heavier?

B bass is only one step down to A, kewl.

4th String D stays.

3rd String to F#, only half down, kewl.

2nd String B to A is kewl.

1st String stays the same.

Is that it?
