On this subject, can anyone who has played both describe the differences in
sound between the Wechter/Scheerhorns and the Gold Tone/Beards? I don't have
the chance to see or play these in stores here in Japan. Both (on paper)
seem to be excellent value for money, and well-made instruments. Of course
my playing style will not be the same as anyone else's, but if two or three
people say (for example) that the Beards have a brighter sound, or that the
Scheerhorns have more punch, then maybe I can relate that to my playing
style.
Also, I'm intrigued by the soundscreen/f-hole difference. Is there really so
much difference? And if you had to describe the difference in sound, other
than volume, what is it?
Thanks
Hugh
