Gibson is in a sort of lose-lose situation themselves.
They are legally bound to agressively protect their trade marks, names, etc.
By doing so they alienate some of us.
By not soing so they can easily lose the rights to the name.
"Aspirin" used to be a trade name in the U. S. In Europe it still is, because
its owner protected it and restricted its use.
That said, my Dobro is a Dobro, even if Gibson did not make it. I have never
been fond of the word resophonic.
