This year was an amazin' year for the reso at Merlefest.
Megan Lovell was wonderful on her reso and played one song where if you weren't
watching, you'd think it was Jerry- it was one of Jerry's songs. She's all of 18
years old and plays with her sisters, The Lovells, of Calhoun Georgia.
Blue Highway/Rob was most excellent, as always.
Andy Hall and The Infamous Stringdusters were great and Andy's reso workshop
(with a fanatastic player from Lenoir, N.C. - Garrett Carter) was great.
I can't find his name but the dobro player in Pam Tillis' band was the
consumate player- quietly enhancing Pam's vocals without taking earth shaking/eye
and ear popping breaks.
There was lots of diversity in reso players and lots of wonderful music.
Support the arts. Kiss a musician.
