I would like to offer a friendly correction to Bill's recap. I do not
believe that either Mike Auldridge or Jimmy Heffernan had their reputations
"sullied" by Boze. The workshops they taught were, by all accounts, high
quality; they had no culpability at all with respect to any workshops that
failed to take place; and most important, they had absolutely no role in any
of Boze's criminal conduct, and no knowledge of it at any point sooner than
the rest of us -- they found out about it along with the rest of us. Those
facts have never been disputed.
This is no small point to me. Our community owes so much to Mike Auldridge,
in particular, and we have so many reasons to hold him in the highest
regard, not only for the profound contributions he has made to the dobro,
but also for his unimpeachable character. Personally, I don't see the need
to link his name at all with Boze's thoroughly sullied name.
