I can;t even imagine how Mike's sterling reputation can be sullied by
anyone or anything.
It should also be noted that Jim Heffernan was probably the greatest
victim of the entire scheme. Not only wasn't he paid for most of his
workshops, he was not even reimbursed for many of his related
expenses and was left holding the bag for many, many thousands of
dollars in air tickets and hotel bills.
I remember into the hotel where the LA workshop was held to see Jim
at the check-in desk, handing over his credit card with the
statement, "I'm surprised he's not here, but if he doesn't show, put
it on this." Matt/Ray was supposed to show up for that one, but as in
Boston never appeared. As Matt's "empire" fell apart soon after this,
I fear that Jim was stuck with the bill not only for his own room and
but for the two-day rental on the large meeting room where the
workshop was held.
Despite all this background noise, the Auldridge/Heffernan workshop
was fantastic.
