Hey Jim,
Have a great time at Windgap. I'll be playing at Sterling Park, Ct. that same
weekend, or else I'd come up and "hassle" ya! Say "hi's" to Smokey and to
"Beartracks" from me will you and hopefully I'll see you at White's Beach?
One comment to the list, on the recent thread about amps for lap steels, while
I'm here. They are ALL too heavy to carry around...(anymore)....!!! My newest
amp is (I still have it) is a Peavey Nashville 400, from my Emmons days, and one
thing I noticed, was when I'd plug in a lap steel that was probably made in the
late 1930s or mid 1940s, into that Peavey with it's 400 watts of power, into that
15" Black Widow speaker, wowza.....it was comparable to filling your lawnmower
with jet fuel! Add a little distortion-delay-compression from a effect box, and
you could really have some fun for yourself. Yeehawww!!!
Now tho, it's a Shure SM57 or a 58 when any of my resos need a little help,
Acoustic twangs,
Richie
