Another slant question...
Is it wrong to hold the bar *between* the index and thumb and flip it back and
forth that way rather than doing wrist flips? (Stevens' bar)
I've been trying both techniques and my wrist just doesn't move well, it's too
stiff with joint problems. But I can flip the bar back and forth between the
index and thumb all day long. Muting is a little less natural, but with some
thought it can still be done...
Am I going the wrong direction with this? Does anyone successfully do the
finger flips?
Btw, I had a chance to watch Danny Caldwel of the Kirby Knob Boys up close on
Sunday night. He chokes strings with a single finger behind the bar while
playing some licks. Wild!
