As part of a recent anti-payola settlement with the FCC, Clear Channel and
three other major radio broadcast companies paid the government $12.5
million and agreed to provide a significant amount of free airtime for indie
labels and artists. As a part of the airtime agreement, Clear Channel has
an online site that allows artists to submit their indie music:

Some of you may have run into the Wells Family at IBMA; Sara Wells plays
dobro as well as banjo in that family band, and they currently have a song
on the Country page of the Clear Channel website, showing up at #5 for
today's plays. Sara plays some dobro on this song -- nothing fancy, but
it's a very nice song.
