Way to go, Poob -- welcome to the, uh, last century! And 6 gigs should be
enough for about six days' worth of songs before you have to repeat any of
them.
Dwight's iPod, which I use, currently has 1981 songs with dobro (total 6.2gigs,
4.7 days), featuring 96 different dobro players. I tell ya, it's worth it
to use the 'genre' column to code by dobro player -- then you can find
everything by a particular player, including obscure session work. For
example, I have 572 tracks on the iPod that feature Jerry Douglas, from 86
different albums, and I would never find a lot of his session work if I
didn't have it coded. My iPod Shuffle, at 1GB, currently (barely) holds all
of the 282 Rob Ickes tracks I have uploaded to the iPod.
I still have a couple of shelves full of CDs that aren't on the iPod yet,
and the big mystery to me is why Dwight has so much music on his iPod that
is completely bereft of dobro -- 7531 songs without a single dobro note!
What a wasted opportunity...
