This is a bit off "reso" track, but since Howard
brought it up...

I'm not sure where or how most people listen
to their mp3 players. I mostly listen
to music in the car. So, having thousands of
tunes on on device isn't always a plus, even with
playlists. I got a small device from
walmart last year that plugs into the cigarette
lighter (about $30), and allows both a 1/8 jack
input and also a USB connection, and plays the
tunes through an FM transmitter so the radio picks it
up. I've used it for memory sticks and also the USB
adapter on my mp3 player, and my kids players also
have
usb connectors. But, rather than have cables coming
out of mp3 players. As time passed I found I mostly
use it for USB memory sticks. Can even carry it
in my coat pocket and take it from car to car. It
works great in the old car which just has an FM radio,
too. But, my next purchase will
be a car radio/cdplayer that has a USB input.
Going to alot of computer shows/exhibits,
alot of vendors are giving away USB memory
sticks (256 meg to 1,2 gig) with their company names
on them. I even recently got a 4 gig stick at
Staples for about $14. So, I find myself
with several, of different sizes. It makes it alot
easier to just put the types of songs you want on
several of this and plug them in. Easier since I
don't have to scroll through lists when I'm driving.

So, actually having different Memory sticks for Reso,
or non reso music makes it easier
or bluegrass vs other...I can copy the tunes to
it before a trip and never touch the thing, just put
it in and play or plug another one in and play. Alot
smaller and easier than changing CDs. And a lot more
fit in the center console.
