Ah, you guys are pikers! :)
I have the IPOD Video just because of the extra storage (it holds about 56
Gigs). It is not nearly big enough to hold all my tunes. Currently I have
about 300 Gigs of MP3's (actually not really mp3's since most of the stuff
is in apple lossless format). Every CD I own is ripped to my computer. I
also have an AppleTV which has it's own hard drive and also streams the
music to my main stereo system in the living room from my computer that is
in the basement. All my music is at my fingertips and the only time I use a
CD is if I purchase one, which is becoming more and more rare as I download
most of my music now from places like emusic.
AppleTV just added a Youtube component so I can now play all the youtube
videos on my high def 52 inch tv screen and play the sound through my magno
planer speakers.
On the IPod side, I play my Ipod in the car and then switch to noise
cancelling headset for commuting. I currently have a method where I play all
the music in a slow cycle: it loads as much as it can on the IPod and as
soon as it is played 3 times, it disappears from the play list and the next
batch of songs automatically sync up.
I figure it will take a couple of years for me to cycle through everything.
