I really appreciate hearing from you all... I'm very relieved to hear that
either method is acceptable.
I still like how the bar feels in my hand better when I'm holding it with my
index finger over the top, but slants are much smoother, faster and more painless
when I do the fingerflips. I suspect over time I may try to do both, but the
finger flips will be my standby at least for slants.
I do notice that straight barring far up the neck (over the body) is also easier
for me when I use the finger flip hold.
I guess like everything else, everyone's wrist is built differently.
