Please excuse me for putting my 2 cents in, but when it comes to style I
don't know that there is just a certain "style". Each is different, which
is what makes playing the resonator so unique. If I had to qualify as to
style, to me, it would be Pete Kirby's style (Bashful Brother Oswald) or
that of Jerry Douglas. Everything else seems to fall in between. I never
took a lesson in my life, just turned 80 and have been "trying" to play this
thing for the past 8 or 9 years. I learned pretty much what I know from
listening to Oswald's recordings. I will be at the Gathering in a couple
weeks, and look forward to meeting you folks, and maybe even learn something
from most of you.
Take care, see 'ya there.
