Volume 3-6 are totaly unfamiliar to me also. Being a Deacon fan, I have
(still) the set of 45rpm Alex & Olabelle records that I got from WWVA in
1961, when my later to be good friend Lee Moore was an all night DJ
there. This was my introduction as to what a Dobro was, (although I had
heard one for years when listening to Roy Acuff records) "Dobro Chimes"
was the prettiest thing I had ever heard. I just had to have it &
the 8x10 color photo of the "Gang" that showed Deacon with his Dobro guitar.
That was when I found out what one looked like. Little did I know what would
later transpire. (I've been playing one now for 37 years....)
I also have a CD that I purchased from Bev King, bking006@centurytel.net
which is Vol 1&2 of Deacon's instrumentals.
Hopefully, volume 3-6 are from a legitimate source
of archived material, that has been released with the knowledge of
his family. There are many songs listed that I have never heard Deacon
play. I'd be interested in purchasing these to add to my collection when I
find out more about this. Jim Warren
