i found some inserts that pete woddman cut for me ages ago, weird white
plasticky stuff, i'll use those till the ebony & maple ones arrive...

For a temp repair, fill the slot with sawdust or baking soda and add a drop of
CA (Superglue) let it harden then file a slot. You don't want to deepen the
existing slot as that will get the D out of plane with other strings.
