Big thanks to Richie for getting me out of the house for the weekend. I had
a great time and got to pick with quite a few folks. Oh let's just name a
few, and if I leave somebody out, just blame the lack of sleep. There was,
naturally, Richie with Sadie Sho-Bro and I did see Andy Katz a coupla times.
I had a good session with Matt "Bristol Boy" Nozzolio and even got to play
his bread & butter DeNeve. I was camped right accross from Dan Burke and
wandered into his camp a coupla times. Then there was also Skye Travis and
his brass Dobro from the 30s. What a sound that thang made. I didn't catch
his last name, but Fred had his Regal Black Lightning sounding real good.
And I can't forget Iris and that wonderful mandolin chop she has. She tells
me she's learning dobro, and if she's half as good on dobro as she is on
mando, LOOK OUT! I'm already makin' plans for next year, so Richie can twist
somebody else's arm.
