I know, I know...I need to return calls. You'll have to excuse me as
IBMA has fried my brain. Yesterday was over the top as I overheard Andy
Hall and Leroy Mac go at it toe to toe for what seemed like hours....
BTW....for the first time in 28 years(?) Doyle Lawson is carrying a
resodude in the band. He hired 20 year old Josh Swift at IBMA and
essentially told him to report to the bus. 20 years old I tell you. I
asked Doyle "why not me"? He replied...
"Son, you're a day late and a dollar short"
Josh was in the Beard booth playing a bunch of E's....Watch out for this
guy. He's a monster.
Betty's reported on the Mike award. I can only tell you that that
everyone at my table was really choked up. Mike's acceptance mentioned
"angels" coming into his life, whew.
I asked Mike how he felt about the 2 standing O's..He never saw them
even though he walked right through the middle of it. He was on cloud nine.
Gotta catch a plane.
