Hi... Re: Instrument mic.

I've been using AKG C-1000-S. It's a good all-round "Swiss Army knife" condenser
microphone; good for everything from reso to harp. It takes a plain 9V. battery
or accepts phantom power, for good results from most mixers. I bought mine used,
for about $150 from a music rental dept., for use on my Beard "E" Model.

Another, (condenser mic,..), excellent choice is a , "RODENT-5"...

Actually, that's an easy way to remember the model, but it's really a, "Rode,
NT-5". They're usually sold brand new in a set of two,..the pair would run you
about $550. A great choice for reso. And you only need one,...(unless you're a
drummer.).

I have always found that used equipment is a wise move. Check classifieds; the
net; music stores and pawnshops. The reason we all buy high-quality brand-name
gear, in the first place, is for durability and great results.

So, fine used equipment still offers exactly that: It was initially, purposely
built to last and give good service. And you're saving a bundle up front when you
locate a used one in good condition....But, then again,...the extra cost for a
new unit will ensure that you get a shiny one.
