Date: Wednesday, October 24, 2007  09:51:33 (-0700) From: Gary Miller <gmiller @..........com> Thanks all for the great microphone comments. And the winner is... I ordered a Shure Beta 57a yesterday. I decided that it would be wisest for my situation not to have a condenser mic and have to deal with phantom power issues. No one could find anything less than really good to say about the 57's and the Beta seems to be yet a big improvement over that so I know that I can't go wrong there. The price actually seems pretty reasonable compared to the price of some of the condensers being used. I love the indestructibility side of the mic too. Toss it in a bag and go. Another hammer can always come in handy too. Thanks, Gary
