I have the H4 (highly recommended) and it will transfer to the computer
directly by USB connection so I am sure the H2 does too. If you record in
mp3 format you don't have to do anything to the files after recording and
the standard .wav format is your other choice. Nothing proprietary. You can
actually use it as a really advanced usb stereo microphone for your computer
as well.

I would highly recommend spending a little more for the H4 over the H2 if
you can. The direct XLR connections and phantom power are really super and
let you plug any high quality mics directly into it. The 4 track
capabilities are a nice bonus, but it is some of the other features that
(metronome, tuner, click track, xlr inputs) that really make this an
incredible little machine. Go the extra few dollars for the H4 over the H2
though.

Andy, can the H2 download to computer w/out special software?
Have you used/seen both? which did you like the best? If I recall
the Edirol is twice the $ as the H2.
