Just got back from the Tennessee Fall Homecoming in Norris, Tn.
My second time there. What a place ! Four stages of bluegrass,
old time Mt. music and Old time country.
Lots of interesting displays of Mt. crafts and the like.
Many Reso players on hand. Johnny Bellar, Uncle Phil, Mike Webb
and many others.
Got to sit down backstage with Mike Webb for about an hour and
pick. Played Mike's dobro "Herman" for a half hour or so. (Oswald's
old Dobro) Like Richie says, "is this fun or what ?" Pat was video
taping the evidence. Not another Reso anywhere that sounds like that one..
The motel we stayed at had a campground across the street with
pickin' about every night, and another down the road about a mile
with the same thing.
Time to rest up now and play some golf before it snows... Jim W.
