Hi George - Like Mark, I too have a very similar pre-war Regal made
Dobro. It has a solid headstock which puts it around mid 30's also.
It's always hard to nail down exact years with these as the serial
numbers are very unreliable but the fact that it is a solid head with
no holes puts it in the mid, maybe late 30's. Has the faux mahogany
finish, no binding on the square neck. Mike A looked at it and said
it looked exactly like his two but that mine had an earlier serial
number (again, not necessarily significant). Chicago made definitely
with no 3-holes. Model 37. It's a keeper. - Dave
