Subject:Re: [RESOGUIT-L] Tunings and re-tuning

That's one of the things that never ceases to amaze me Lynn,

There's so much available on that simple G tuning. Just recently I was looking
around on You Tube, and under Chet Atkins, I found a song titled "Vincent". What
a beautiful melody! It's not anything new but till the other day I'd never paid
attention to it. It's right there in little scales on the first two or three
strings on the first two or three frets of open G. Check out the Don McLean & Chet Atkins version.....just wonderful. I don't know music theory to speak of, but I manage to play in spite of this handicap, probably 'cause I've played with a bar all my life, but this tune, written about Vincent VanGough, just SHINES on our instrument.

It's not one you'd normally think of as a "dobro tune". Check it out,

Richie
(who's using his capo(s) less these days......O;-)
