Go to hipshotproducts.com and, in the search box, type
TMB-5.  Looks like what a lot of you folks interested
in changing tunings could use.  They recommend roller
nuts and delrin(TM) bridge inserts to minimize
friction and return all the way back to the original
tuning.  (They sell those, too.)

Could be what Mr. Guernsey had.  I believe I saw a
photo about 5 years ago with Jerry Douglas using one
of these.
