Hi Steve,

I dunno, I sling my reso around my back like Indrek does at times. Of course on
all of my resos, the strap is PERMANENTLY ATTACHED at the guitar body end. I've
been the whole strap-loc route and found them a bother cause with my case(s) you
had to detach the strap before the guitar would fit in the case. I never remove
my strap anyways, instead I always have a cloth that I wipe the strings and the
guitar down with, and this ends up between the strap and the strings, when I
close the case. At the peg head end, my straps either have detachable buckles or
can be slipped off over the tuning keys when I change strings. In the latter
case, they're still very snug fitting over the tuning keys.

I own one guitar, the one I call "the mutt" that's been d ropped on a concrete
floor, (not by me, but I saw it happen).....owchhh.......NOT A RECOMMENDED
PROCEDURE! I think this particular guitar was built from a kit, and not too well
at that, and when it hit the concrete, it literally exploded! I got it in
pieces, and the way it was damaged, it went back together very nicely, and I have
to point out the repairs in order for them to be seen.

It's got to be heartbreaking to drop a "real" instrument tho, and a little
thought in how the strap is attached, can be well worth the extra effort in
preventing this from happening..

I guess u n me are the only two who aren't at the Summit? Oh I went to see
DOBRO DAN & THE INNOCENT BYSTANDERS tonight, so "Dan from R.I." is missing the fun in Nashville....:( The "Innocents"
are a new group, and once the nerves settled down (and they realized the audience
wasn't gonna EAT them,) they put on a more than decent show. I'd go and see them
again at the drop of a fingerpick!!

Twangs,

Richie
