You guys keep telling these stories. I think it is due to images like that
constantly flashing through my mind that I haven't yet had a story of my
own! Every time I put an instrument on a stand, I subconsciously visualize
all the things that could go wrong, and usually end up moving the stand
nearer a desk, wall, or speaker so that if the thing does tip the instrument
merely leans the other way instead of going all the way to the ground.
But I do love having them out here at home. I know I play more if it is
sitting right beside me so I can grab it and play a few minutes between work
and chores. Rather like my replacement for the games on these danged
computers. At a gig, it has to be ready to go in seconds, so there's no
getting around that it has to be out and strapped up, etc. But 'out' can
still mean back behind the P.A. or otherwise out of traffic...

Hi Lee,
Well.....some of us had to stay home to keep Poob's list active, so I guess
it's up to you and me! I remember one time years ago, at an outdoor gig, I
had one of those cheapo folding guitar stands, and it was windy...
