I was going to ask if Loctite might be a good idea since the nut on the strap
end of the straplock is only tightened against the resistance of the leather
strap, so it cannot be considered permanently tightened.
I recently bought a Schaller lock to put on my Dobro, but have not installed it
yet. The screw is much smaller diameter than the existing end button screw,
which on my Do is a second screw, below the one that holds the tailpiece. I
want to either drill out the Schaller locking end button, or make a new one to
take the larger scew.
It helps to have a lathe in the basement, but time is another thing....
