I also am not a big fan of on board pickups and prefer a mic.  Does anyone 
know the brand and model number of the condensor mic  Doctor Flux  and a lot 
of other instrumentalists use?  Look on youtube at some Jerry Douglas clips 
and it is the one you see most often>
