Steve, I had heard that Southwest was good for taking guitars into the cabin, so
I took a chance. As advised (by Rob & Betty) I went online as soon as I could (24 hrs in advance) and made sure I was in the "A" boarding group. No one even acknowledged
that I was bringing a guitar on. Smooth sailing all the way.
So, I can add to the recommendations for flying Southwest. Of course that
doesn't help if you don't live where they fly....

There have been discussions in the past concerning taking a reso along on a
plane trip. Not that the Summit is over, does anyone have any good comments or
suggestions to make for future travelers?
One reason I did not make a great effort to attend the summit, back when there
was still space available, was this concern, and I did not really want to drive
that far.
Thanks,
Steve Bartlett
