Steve,
On my flight to Nashville last month, I was on a small plane and had to (I
knew this in advance) gate check my MA-6, in its TKL case. While the baggage
handler assured me he gently place it on top (and apparently he did, since
it was unharmed), I was anxious most of the trip.
At ResoSummit I saw a number of Calton cases and, after talking with
satisfied owners (and Paul Beard, who recommended them), decided to treat my
axe to a Calton. They are reputed to protect an instrument through whatever
tragic situation you can imagine save misdirection to Belize. Unfortunately
they had a huge price increase on November 1 (ResoSummit was, you will
recall, just days later), covering cost increases and a plummeting US dollar
(Calton is a Canadian firm). In any event, my new case will hopefully be
ready by ResoSummit 2008.
Andy

There have been discussions in the past concerning taking a reso along on a
plane trip. Not that the Summit is over, does anyone have any good comments
or
suggestions to make for future travelers
