I packed a gig bag in my luggage... so I took it on the plane in the hard case
then transferred to the gig bag later.
On the flatpick list someone talked about a flatpicking "frequent flyer" who
packed his guitar in the calton, and his clothes in the gig bag, then switched
the contents when he got to the hotel.
Don't think that'd work for me (makeup case, hair dryer, lots of clothes) but
for those that travel light.... neat idea.

airplane. I wish now I had spent more time
trying to figure out that rig because, while the nylon
gig bag is a lot easier to carry than a hard shell
case, it is more vulnerable to bumps and the like. I'm
investigating this and when I feel I have a
definitive solution, I'll post it...
