Subject:RE: [RESOGUIT-L] RE: problem with strings that happen to be on a Beard
Date:Monday, December 31, 2007  16:47:41 (-0800)
From:Richard DeNeve <richard_d13132 @.....com>

In my experience, the Black Diamond phosphor bronze
reso set strings will last a long, long time. The
third string wrap takes a very long time to loosen
from pick pressure (over 40 hours of hard picking).
The down side (for me) is the .016 first string (I
like a .017), and the annealing of the core of the
third string seems to be slightly soft, so it needs
retuning every couple of hours playing.

I like mellow, and use the stainless strings available
from Juststrings.com. I get a dozen sets at a time.
As typical for stainless and nickel wrapped strings,
they start out mellower than the phos. bronze, but
just do not change sound over the long haul. My
current set has seen at least 10 hours of playing a
week, or over 3 months, and I am still surprised at
how good the sound and volume are each time I pick it
up.

Usual disclaimers.
