needs to buy that collection and see that it gets donated to
the Country Music Museum
where everyone can make an occasional pilgrimage and view
these wonderful
Dopyera experiments in sound. Just to pass this on into
someone's collection, or
Gibson's wouldn't get the collection the exposure it
deserves. Now, let's see...
who's got enough money to do this?
does anyone know what the asking price is? Has anyone
approached Elderly
about cutting a deal on donating? i.e., they kick in half
and maybe we can skim
the rest off festivals... whatever.
something needs to be done..NOW... before some flush
collector from a foreign
country snaps it up the way they've been buying pre war
instruments..., i.e., has
anyone seen the deck of playing cards with all the pix of
vintage banjos on it out of
a Japanese businessman's personal collection?.. 52 Bacon
fancy plectrum
and tenors.. and banjos by Paramount, Gibson, Vega, etc...
this collection
deserves more... might be a project for IBMA...
