It's on an 'L' shaped bracket. The only installation you do is drill the bracket
for your strap button hole.
I just spoke to Dave Borisoff and it will be a while before he develops the
reso-centric Hipshot. I'm looking forward to the new one but I'm 'getting by'
quite nicely with the ones I have.
