Yeah, our main PC is in the music room, too.
Funny how computer mics go, but I have this real
cheap small boom computer mic, and it sounds
surprisingly good for doing simple recording. Mostly
for my students, but I've actually recorded a band
with it, too for practice and I tried other better
studio mics with adapters and they didn't sound as
good.
Must be some electronic thing with the sound card's
analog to digital capabilties having to match the
the mic's, who knows.
Course, it's even a better sound when the whole PA
system (audio out) is hooked up to the PC......which
it happens to be right now, since we've been recording
our practices to the computer.
I saw a demo today at Staples of a high def
web cam VS a normal one...and it surprised me what
a difference that could make for $99. I guess it would
be worth getting if you're doing alot of computer
conference stuff like this.
Hmmm...Could webcast or conference our next band
practice..
