Subject:Re: [RESOGUIT-L] computer recording

Wow Dave,

Thanks for the input!! As a member of a little regional bluegrass band, and
also as a "weekend warrior" type C&W steel guitarist for most of my adult life, I've got a lot of "residual stuff" kicking around here, both in
the old hi impedance mics, and the newer (last 20 yrs. or so,) hi impedance mics,
and while I'm strictly ***STRICTLY*** what I consider "amateur status," I've got
more "stuff" around here than the average person might have.

Also being in the "advanced GEEZER" age catagory, while I'm slowly learning
about computers, I've got a longgggg way to go. (and a short time to get there!
O;-)

Running a line that would somehow "match up" the output of either my old Yamaha
MT2X 4 tr. cassette recorder, or, the output of my sound system's amp. which is a
Rad Shack 200w Am-Fm-Turntable- with aux in for TV, CD,VCR......if I could match
up the output of either of these, to the computer's 1/8"" mini mic
input.....which I'd forgotten was stereo, (duh,) thanks for the reminder.....but
the main advantage would be to use "real" mics, stands, etc., rather than this
little "desk mic" that I'm using now. Also the record level controls on the tape
recorder's input, could only help the situation, I'd think?

We'll see how this little dobro "chat room" works out, but Dave, you've given me
food for thought!

So thanks Dave and "keep twangin," it's GOOD for ya,

Richie

ps.....is this the "List" for informative information or what??? Thanks folks!
