Your computer, PC or Mac, has audio in, and audio out (miniplug for headphones,
among some applications).
MOST humans, want to take an audio OUT from the computer and patch it to the
stereo so they can listen to internet raydeo on the stereo system, send it to the
tool shed, and pipe it into the hot tub.
Reversing this, is interesting.
Recording it all, and sending it to yer COMPUTER, to record . . .
I'd bet Pete Grant, and some others who record for a living, can assist in all
this.
I actually thought I knew something about this, till I started typing.
N realized, I don't know SQUAT about audio interfaces with a computer.
For instance, if an analog signal is being laid down, and it's fed LIVE, into
the computer, is it already converted to digital? Or does some software
manipulation need to take place, to convert it to digital?
All this, to record a dobro in yer computer room . . . and danged if I'm not
interested!!!!
You folks gonna cost me money, sooner or later!!!! *G*
