Twangs, Dave and Hugh have spoken well . . . and I'm about months away to
understand them. *G*
But as you've often said Richie, and I'll concur with, what don't kill us makes
us twangier.
Me, I'm just a guy, a flatfoot, with a dobro.
N then, one day, she came onto my office.
With legs and bridges up to here.
N I knew, I was ruint.
I'm SO ruint . . . . it's good though.
Hey, off topic, if all y'all are fans and lovers of Utah Phillips, like I've
been for so long, he could use some money, prayers and such. N he's got a wife to
care for if he passes first.
Google his name, he's a hoss, and he's got some hard times comin, and well, we
should take care of our artists when they need us . . and Utah Phillips needs us.
Thanks Howard, for lettin me run on this. He's out here my coast, just up the
mountain from me.
Pete Grant knows him, I think . . . closer n I do, anyways . .
I love what he's done to represent the working man, and many of his songs sound
GREAT with a dobro . . . . SO, Utah could use some love folks.
I liken Utah to Django, Woody, Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Bill MONroe, Earl Scruggs,
Jean Ritchie, Dave Van Ronk . . . and Dylan. Those who shaped generations, MANY
generations, and people, after them. Those who shaped the music and stirred the
masses, and changed it all.
Utah is one of them. He changed things, he stood for the masses.
I woulda played dobro for anything he ever wrote, but thankfully, others have,
and done MUCH better!!!
" . . . I'd fill up my shotgun ,
With Rock, Salt And Nails,:
And he never played that song, cuz he thought it was too angry, He never played
it, but once, and it's never been released,
What a hoss, Utah Phillips is.
Hope you east coast folks will acknowledge and kick in.
He's a hoss, ya know.

That's My Story, And I'm Sticking To It!"
