Subject:RE: [RESOGUIT-L] ALL RESO RADIO TONIGHT!! Thursday April 3rd, 2008

From:reso-man <reso-man @.......net>

Hi List,

I don't know how Joe realized I was "poor" but he's right about Eric's "Dobro
Chat Room." You don't need anything other than a computer to access the room,
altho for some reason, Tom Foote has this Apple machine, and can't seem to access
the place, but Tom is one of those "west coast" folks so that might be part of
his problem??? I asked Eric about this and he mumbled something about "apples
are for hosses".....so I guess Eric is running for cover along with me, for my
west coast remarks.

You "left coasters" knows I'm just funnin' withcha, right? (I hope!) You Apple
users too.......O;-)

Seriously everyone, and here's the reso content....., fellow lister Randy Getz
who I believe knows as much about pre-war resos as any man alive, opened up his
tape archives for the lucky few in attendance the other night, and it was like
peeking back into the past! Imagine listening to Deacon Brumfield, and Josh
Graves, chatting back and forth and swapping tunes. It was like an audio
resophonic history lesson! Also, for whatever reason, the quality of the music,
coming thru the computer is much better than I would have expected, it's not at
all like the loss of quality you get when you try to listen to someone play thru
a telephone connection. Thank you again Randy for the shareing of your love for
this music and this instrument.

Fellow lister Andy Katz (finally taking time from his busy scheduel, and giving
in to my urging) dropped in last night, and played a few tunes for us, and
listened to a few tunes, and had a great time! Thanks Andy and come back soon!

Personally, what I'd love to see, would be for fifteen or twenty people to drop
in, and share their knowledge, of this wonderful instrument. I know I've learned
a ***lot*** from the time I've spent in this "chat room", and hey, I'm even
learning a little bit more about computers!

This "chat room" is set up so you can type your comments to others in the room,
or, if you have a mic. hooked up to your computer, you click on the mic icon, and
whenever who's on the mic stops talking, or playing, then it's your turn to
speak, or even to play, but mainly to socialize, and share your love for "our"
instrument.

Especially for those of you, who don't have easy acess to other reso-players,
here's your chance! Through the miracle of computers and the internet, this "I'm
the only dobro player in the entire state of Kansas"....(or wherever).....is now
no longer a problem.

C'mon in and "twang" u'r hearts out with the rest of us!!!

Hope to see you soon, altho tonight I think I'm going to listen to KAOS....

Richie
