Yo, Resomaniacs--
sad to report my experimenting with a rolling tote briefcase as a
base for
towing a reso in a hardshell case has come to an ignominious end...
I managed to put a dent in the bottom extension of a 4 extension metal
collapsible tow handle unit and it's currently inoperative.. unless I
can
get the handle to extend for all 4 sections and get the dent out..
sigh-h-h
I hate to conclude that a rolling business tote is too wimpy for this
project,
but it sure looks like that might be the case. DANG! I thought this
would
be the answer to getting a reso on board an airplane while not having to
carry it through miles and miles of airport.. or so it seems anyway.
my original notion was to extend the tow handle of the rolling tote
briefcase, set the reso in the hardshell case on top of the tote and
velcro it to the collapsible handle and then put a tow handle in the
peghead end of the hardshell case... hm--mmm.. oh well, back
to the drawing board.

PS Oddly enough I saw a guy do this in the Seattle airport on my way
to ResoSummit last Nov. He set the guitar (in it's case) on top of the
rolling tote, but he was towing it with one hand and trying to balance
the guitar with the other. The guitar case was not attached to the
rolling tote and looked tipsy and unstable... and it forced him to be
walking in a twisting position making him a prime candidate for
throwing his back out.. no thanks...
