Who is Marvin (Buddy) Mayhew, anyway?? I talked to this "yayhoo" three
times about his "steal of a deal" on a "never been out of my bedroom" Beard
Model "E." I live in DC, and we agreed (through a series of emails and phone
conversations) to meet in Richmond at the Amtrak station. He was very
demanding about it having to be "cash" and wanting to meet in a "very
public" place because "that's a lot of money to be carrying around," and he
kept assuring me of what a "great deal" it was. The guy made me nervous, but
I said, what the heck. So, I got the cash ($3200) out of the bank, bought
an Amtrak ticket to Richmond (rearranging a bunch of plans with my family),
but when I arrive there at 9:20 as agreed...no frickin' Marvin. And not a
word. No voicemail, no email...nothing.
I'm sitting in a hotel in Richmond with a wad of cash, and no Beard. What a
waste of time and energy. That's what I get for trying to save a little
dough.
Anyone out there contemplating buying this guy's Beard...BEWARE...he's MIA.
