That to me sounds like a whole lot of trouble to go through to save 500.00 .
How much money did you burn on travel? and time ? did you get a room?
Id say pay the 500.00 to paul's shop, get a new e model . When something seems
too good to be true it most likely is .

I recently bought a car sight unseen across the country and the seller gave me
a piece of advice on how to pay for it. He told me to get a cashier's check and
make it to MYSELF. Then when I got there and looked over the car and was
satisfied then I merely endorsed the cashier's check over to him. Had I found
fault with his car I could just take my cashiers check and go on my way. It kind
of solves the problem with meeting someone you don't know at the Amtrak station
with a wad of cash in your pocket. This way you're not caught up in a dangerous
and possibly painful experience.
