List seems quiet so I'm gonna throw this out there, yes, prematurely some will
surely think since I've done zippo research.
I have a Regal RD-52 "Black Lightning", quarterman cone, that I have the good
fortune of being asked to play out with by my band, despite my suckage at it.
Currently I play it through a condenser mic, which works/sounds great, but it
requires the use of one of our PA's limited inputs, while my guitar uses yet
another (DI). I could probably play both through the condenser, but our sound guy
(lead guitarist) prefers to have DI level of control over my guitar volume. Add
to this that they would like me to add vocals, but this means a vocal mic, and we
don't have enough PA inputs nor stands and even less interest in running yet
another wire and additional pre-gig setup.
What I would like to find is a pickup that I can install on my dobro with
mininmal/no permanent modification to the instrument, DI output, sounds decent,
and I can uninstall if/when I upgrade to a better flattop. Needs to be able to
run off the same wire as my guitar. My price range for this luxury maxes out
about $250. What say you, list?
Sorry for the long post. Any advice/discussion appreciated. Mucho mahalos.
J
