There are options from Fishman, Schertler and McIntyre for resonator
guitar. Lots of people here have one or more, and can make more salient
recommendations than I.

Most of them mount to the spider or the cone. You can run wires outside
the guitar through the screenholes, but this is unsightly and almost
guaranteed to fail at an inopourtune moment. Better to use an endpin
jack or a separate output jack - you can still take the pickup (most of
them, anyway) with you and leave the jack when you upgrade.

Frankly, none of the pickups I've heard sound much like a resonator
guitar. I have a Schertler Basik in one guitar, and it's fine for what
it is....it's fine for fighting with drumsets and electric guitars, but
I would rather use a mic 99% of the time. (Honestly, perhaps your $250
is better spent upgrading the PA to a mixer with more channels)

If you do decide to go to a pickup, you can also pick up a cheap A/B box
to switch between your resonator guitar and your guitar for about $20,
and save yourself a channel.
