Hey Tom,
Dan's not kidding. I've seen one of his dobros after he dropped it on the
floor, owchies! Dan has since learned an easier way to make a G
chord......(easier on the dobro anyways.) How's ol "Regina" the Regal holding
together Dan? Is that "flour & water" paste/glue Steve used still holding up?? Steve
Pierce of Lawrence, Ma., is one of our local luthier's folks, and he did a more
than decent job "reviving" poor Dan's "Regina." (Reconstructing is more like
it!)
If it wasn't for conflictng scheduels, I'd try to get down to that little
festival you are trying to get started Dan. Sounds like a fun weekend, but I've
got Pelletier's Party tomorrow, that I'm "day-tripping" to (a 300 mi. round trip
"day-trip" folks,) and ol Champ needs a new alternator (I think / hope) and has
to be cleaned out and readied for White's Beach, Pemi Valley and finally Thomas
Point Beach.
Am I the only one concerned with the ridiculous prices of fuel, affecting the
attendance at our beloved bluegrass festivals???
Going to be interesting to see how all this plays out. I won't be surprised to
see gas hit FIVE BUCKS A GALLON by Labor Day, and at those prices, I figure it'll
cost me slightly less than a dollar to move ol Champ a single mile! Somewhere,
somehow, something's gotta give, and I'm too damn old n ornery to sleep in a
tent!
Have fun Dan,
Richie (who lost his "innocence" a longggggggggggggggg time ago.....possibly
before "Dobro Dan" was even born......O;-)
