Some sound guys will mix an ambient "center channel" from a mic in front
of the house so it sounds more real life.
If I see a band with in-ears I'll occasionally see a musician violently
whip their head back and forth to pop the monitor out. You know
something went horribly wrong :-(
It's a dangerous world on stage.
I have absolutely no 1st hand experience wearing in-ears. I'm a wedge guy!
