Howdy Willaim and others on this subject,
Can we slow up a bit until the first quote/subject has been finished with before
the second subject is introduced?
Douglas seems to be indicating a wider context in which the A plus B theorem
should be seen.
Thus the role of stats as Ken indicated has a big and important role to play but
the answer Douglas advocated which involves advancing funds to assist production
and for assisting consumption remains the same. Nothing has changed except a
greater appreciation of whats involved and why.
Your comments shows how important it is for 'money'to stop being an independant
( and privatised) variable for the economy to be able to function properly and
efficiently for society.
Michaels comment seemed merely repeat what Douglas said more concisely.
John R's claim Douglas tried to quantify the 'gap'is unfounded as far as I am
aware. Others, some of whom are involved here have tried to quantify it much to
their frustration, some have left because of it, when in fact a bit of wisdom in
my view shows it isnt imnportant for accepting why the systems are disfunctional,
and structurely so by design. And I dont see what any promises over the moon
have to to do with anything Dougals said in that quote.
Can you please put the dates of the original printing as they may be relevant
as the comments that Joe made about the twenties leading into the depression
indicate.
